The Terrifying Story of Elisabeth Fritzl, The Woman Held Captive For 24 Years
If you just ate lunch, I apologize. This is one of the most disturbing stories you’ll ever hear. Many of you might have heard it before, but in case you haven’t, here are the frightening details regarding Elisabeth Fritzl’s ordeal. She is the poor woman who lived 24 years in captivity in her father’s basement.
Josef Fritzl and his wife Rosemarie were married in 1956 when he was 21 years old and she was just 17. Josef had been raised as an only child under the care of a single mother, and by all the looks of it, he was going to be a decent parent to his own children.
He and Rosemarie would have seven children together, including two sons and five daughters. By all accounts, Josef started to become a harsh disciplinarian.
