The start of the 2016 French Open was not all peaches and cream for Nick Kyrgios. In his first round match against Marco Cecchinato, the 21 year old Aussie received a code penalty for yelling at a ballkid to give him his towel. He then expressed a few choices words for chair umpire Carlos Ramos.
Battling rain and self-combustion, Kyrgios would win the match in straight sets. In his post match press conference, Nick lamented his frustrations to reporters but also acknowledged the arduous task of chair umpiring. "It's not an easy job out there, especially five set matches, to concentrate. I think they do a good job."
This is yet another ill-tempered incident by Nick Kyrgios, adding to the speculation that he may not be allowed to represent his native Australia in the Rio Olympics this summer.
Kyrgios will face Dutch player Igor Sisjling in the second round at Roland Garros.
