If Kevin Smith hadn’t immediately gone to the ER, the 100% blockage of his LAD artery would’ve killed him. After a public controversy surrounding his weight in 2010, when he was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for “being too fat,” he’s worked very hard to get healthy. Despite losing almost 100 pounds, there are still aspects of his diet and lifestyle that need to change, but it won’t be easy.

Kevin Smith is a busy man. He burst onto the scene in the ‘90s with Clerks, followed by such hits as Chasing Amy and Dogma among countless classics. He not only wrote and directed his films, but also cameod as Silent Bob, a character he’s still known for today. Beyond continuing to write and direct movies and TV, he has also revolutionized podcasting with his extremely popular network SModcast. Smith regularly performs live shows and speaking events, releases content through his YouTube channel, runs his production company View Askew and hosts the AMC television program Comic Book Men, which takes place in the comic book store he owns in his native New Jersey.
