Advanced Technology Could Change This Industry
This revolutionary new invention is called the Celluveyor, which is short for Cellular Conveyor, and is describe by the company as “a unique flexible modular conveying and positioning system that is based on the approach of cellular conveying technology.” Basically, it’s a conveyor belt that is able to send objects in any direction.
It uses omnidirectional wheels, which are able to be controlled by an electric motor, that sit within hexagonal modules. The idea is to enable more flexibility when it comes to complicated operations. This will change the way these types of material handling systems function because the Celluveyor allows for complex control and requires less space.
There have been similar attempts made to further the design potential for conveyors, but most only incorporate single elements, like modular construction or problem solving, but the Celluveyor takes the best of all the previous advancements and combines them into one. The company claims “it is suitable for almost all intralogistical applications and fulfills a variety of necessary product characteristics.”
Instead of having to manually modify the mechanics, the Celluveyor simply requires a software update. At the push of a button, operators can adjust to any necessary challenges. The conveyor can transport objects regardless of scope or size, as long as they have a flat surface and fit within the dimensions of the modules. And even repairs are easier.
